The Test analysis the stain removal on a human or animal teeth.
Tooth samples are prepared with stain (see drying of artificial dental plaque).
To acquire the stain, the acquisition of the L * a * b color space requires a spectrophotometer or colorimeter with native L * a * b * acquisition.

A differentiated examination is possible with a 3CCD camera. Resolution: 1628 (H) x 1236 (V) Sensitivity 1.00 lux, gain 50 dB, 30-bit RGB output,
400-700 nm. For evaluation, the L value is evaluated. Here, a digital image is recorded and transformed by software into the L * a * b * space.
Before the samples are cleaned, the initial state of the sample is measured. Based on the results the sample are of a pre-selected. The samples are cleaned with the brushing machine (see product brushing machine). Afterthat the removal of dental plaque is evaluated and normalized to the initial state.

The software record and calculation the dental plaque, the teaching of the system, and setting of thresholds. After completing the investigation, the images and the computed results will be stored. The enter of product-specific data (product, batch, reason of investigation, etc.) and data for testing (examiner, date, location, etc.) enables a documented and transparent investigation.
The functional structure of the software allows an easy operation.
