Handle impact test ISO 20126 5.7
The ISO 20126 contains the impact resistance
test of the handle of manual toothbrushes.
The toothbrush is clamped in a
device. The toothbrush is loaded with an energy of 2.75 joules by a pendulum on the toothbrush head.
The durability is tested. In occured of a breakage the maximum height of the pendulum
is indicated by a drag pointer. With this height, the absorbed energy can be calculated. The standards specify at least
fracture energy > 0.8 Joule.
